Mitchell Harris Wines is an award winning energetic family winemaking business, creating and sharing distinctive cool climate wines. With all fruit sourced from Ballarat’s neighbouring wine regions such as the Pyrenees and Macedon Ranges, Mitchell Harris is proud of its ties to Western Victoria.
What We Do:
In the winery, like in the vineyards, their philosophy is to let the fruit do all the talking and to minimise chemical inputs where possible. Their winemaking aims to preserve the inherent quality and character of the fruit from the vineyard and to reflect the peculiarities of the season. Most of Mitchell Harris’ wines are wild yeast fermented and are unfined and are filtered just prior to bottling. Their wines are crafted to be enjoyed in the vibrancy of youth but to also reward medium to long-term ageing.
From the classic Western Victorian pepper and spice in their Pyrenees reds to the cool climate focus and finesse of their Sabre sparkling, they hope their wines will give you a real glimpse into what makes our central and western Victorian wine growing regions so special.

Always keen to share our love of wine, and the magical process of turning simple grapes into something wonderful, each year we gather a “class” of about twenty “Curious Winemakers” to take the journey from vineyard to bottle.
