Who We Are:
Winemaker Troy Walsh began his journey in wine working as a sommelier in London for 12 years at some of London’s leading restaurants, before turning his hand to making wine in both Australia and France.
Having moved back to Australia with his young family, Troy has established 1 hectare of closely planted Pinot Noir vines at Scotsburn, near Ballarat, and Attwoods have recently opened a cellar door at their winemaking residence Glenlyon Estate, near Daylesford.
What We Do:
Attwoods’ passion is to make food focussed, minimal intervention wines, reflective of vintage, trying to stay true to the philosophy of ‘without great risk, you cannot achieve great rewards’.
Currently listed in a number of the Top 10 restaurants in Australia, and in 2018 Attwoods Wines was named in the James Halliday Wine Companion; Top 10 Best New Wineries.
In addition to the vineyard at Scotsburn, Attwoods also manage a 25 year old vineyard of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, which produces high quality fruit and allows Troy to work with the differing characteristics derived from differing terroir.
The cellar door provides an opportunity to taste all of the latest releases, including wines only available at the cellar door, with food such as local charcuterie and cheese platters available all day.
